Who we are

We are the residents of Sun City West, Arizona.  We have gathered our clubs and organizations as well as some of our business community together to provide a common communication center.  This website provides space for the clubs and organizations in Sun City West, AZ.  This website is meant to facilitate communication between residents, club and organization members, Recreational Centers Management, and the Rec Centers Board of Directors.  It provides a way for each party to know what is going on in our community.  Our objective is to act as a community.

Can we include our Sun City West or local area Club?

Yes.  As long as your club is open to the residents of SCW, obeys the law and agreements made with the Recreation Centers, and is respectful of others.  We do not allow hate groups, or those who do not wish to be constructive, decent or clearly recognized worthy organizations.

What does it cost?

Tis Free, my friend.  We live in a community designed for the inclusion of all of us.  What we have, we share freely.  We'll even assist you in getting started ... free, of course.

What do I need to know?

Actually, you don't need much knowledge.  But the more you know, the more you can do with your site. 

1. Independent Website Linkage - If you prefer to have an independent website, you are knowledgeable and have the software, you are invited to design your own site and interlink with our site.  If you are willing to get in and learn, you can buy software.  I use "MS Expression Web", FTP, Adobe Acrobat.  Microsoft Expression is really all you need.  MS Expression Web costs roughly $250, FTP costs roughly $40, and Adobe Acrobat costs roughly $500.  You can join the Computer Club and learn how to do it yourself.  Isn't that what this is all about anyway.  It can be a fun, creative way to get involved with your community and your family.  While most most website hosts charge for space and tools, if you don't mind a few ads being placed on your website, you can find free host sites, and create a website.  We can help you locate some of the better web hosts if you would like.  ....  You get the idea.

2. Free Website Design - If you have no desire to get involved with the design, but would like to have a website where you can maintain your website on most any computer having access to the web, we can design a website tailored for you.  We will do the work of putting together a website for you.  It won't cost you a dime.  You can place your club news, officers, schedules, calendars, photo albums, scores, by-laws, club applications, links to other related websites, etc.  You must agree, however, to maintain your website.  That means keep the information current, free of abusive content and in compliance with website policies.  It is simple.  You can do this from your browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL).  You can use a PC or a Mac.

So, if you already have a club or organization website, we would appreciate the opportunity to interlink with your website to ensure a common site for everyone to find you and your club.  We do ask that you provide a link back to the Sun City West Club website for navigational ease of use for everyone.  If you don't like the annual fees you have to pay for your site, you may want to consider migrating your site over to ours.  Did I mention that this website is FREE to you?

How do I get started?

Well, this is the easy part.  You should contact your club officers, to determine there is commitment to maintain the site (keep the information current, free of abusive content and in compliance with website policies).  Once that preliminary process is complete, contact me.  You can simply click here on the Webmaster and send me an e-mail.  We can make arrangements to get together, discuss what you want, and we are off to the races.

Who pays for all this?

Well, actually, the Governing Board does.  It is important to work toward our common good through our recreational opportunities within the community.  If we communicate what is offered within to our clubs and organizations, we can enhance the goodness of this community. It belongs to all of us in Sun City West. 

To ensure the timeliness of the website content, each club is responsible for maintaining their site and controlling the content.  It may contain the content each club/organization designs into it as long as it is not abusive and doesn't consume an inordinate amount of web space.  This website is for you.  You have your own voice, your own content, and someone else will pay for it.  Neat!  The only catch is you can't fill it with content that degrades this community, its representative government or each other. Further, you cannot include content that would in any way infringe upon the law or web host policies.  You can complain, disagree and say so, but you have to be respectful or be asked to find your own playground (website).
