| Encore is a Sun City West Chartered Club that was started in 1979 by Mildred Toldrain who served as our first president. |  Mildred Toldrain | The mission and purpose of this cub is to bring together individuals who are interested in learning, teaching and doing arts, crafts and charity projects that support the surrounding communities of Phoenix and the Sun Cities. | | Encore currently has 130 members who create lap robes, walker pockets, adult bibs, knitted and crocheted slippers, baby items, adult and children's hats and other hand made items that are distributed to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Veterans Hospital, toys to Fire Departments and Dell Webb and Boswell Hospitals. |  | In 2005 Encore distributed 1600 items to various charities and hospitals. | |  | Two of the most important projects being done by the members on a monthly basis are "Hand Made Turbans" that are distributed to the cancer patients at the American Cancer Society and favors/place setting decorations which are made for the Interfaith Day Care Center's special occasions. |  | | Encore Needle and Crafts Club is located at the Kuentz Recreation Center (Stardust and R.H. Johnson Blvd.) in Rooms 3 and 4. The club is open every Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Business Meetings are held the last Friday of each month except June, July and August. | | Visitors and New Members are always welcome. | | | | |
