| Our Officers Club Hours HO Layout N Layout Calendar Club Standards Join The Fun Email Us Misc Info Home Page |  The Sun City West Model RR Club was chartered on November 2, 1984. A temporary HO-gauge layout was constructed along with a modest N-gauge layout. The club moved from those temporary quarters, in 1990, to our present quarters in the Arts and Craft Village at R.H. Johnson Recreation Center. The present HO layout was completed one year later. Members have continued to add features and upgrade both layouts. In recent years, several major rebuilds and improvements have been made to create a fun, modern, smooth-running layout.
The club owns both layouts, the structures and a large variety of engines and rolling stock. Individual members are encouraged to run their personal trains on either of the layouts.
Club members share in the responsibility of repairing cars, engines and scenery plus the training of new members to make this unusual model RR system, which has about 2000 feet of track, a constant source of modeling fun. |
