| GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING/SPRING PARTY APRIL 9, 2010 The meeting was called to order by Vice President Linda Swift. She thanked the people who helped organize the party, the members for contributing to the Potluck, and Shirley and Clyde Wilson for setting up and organizing the food. Minutes of the March General membership were approved as written and posted on the website. Treasurer Bill Bond reported we have a balance of $7,365.23 in our checking account. He noted that $545.66 was spent on our new bulletin board installed at Palm Ridge. Linda led the club in thanking Charlie Robinson and his helpers for planning and constructing the bulletin board and the members of the Amazing Race committee for raising the funds for it. Dottie Lingenfelter gave the Membership report. We currently have 531 members, 174 of whom are new this year. She thanked the members for the 100 shirts they purchased and will consider re-ordering next year. Jack Cavanaugh is in charge of training referees for up-coming tournaments and will hold the first training session April 16th at 8:00 a.m. in the Lecture Hall. He reminded everyone of the many jobs to be filled on the Tournament committee for our first invitational tournament in March 2011. Jack Steiner was announced as chairman of the Nominating Committee. He and committee members Mary Steiner, Karen Oveson and Judy Taylor are recruiting candidates for Board positions for 2011. The slate of candidates will be presented at the October General membership meeting. Vacant positions are President, Vice President, and Treasurer. In addition, the many standing committees need chairmen and volunteers. Jack also thanked the club members who voted for him for Rec Board and wished all the snowbirds a good summer.
